Over the last few months/weeks I've been playing FML a fair bit and have had to the changes to understand pretty much all of what the game has to offer and in this article i'll cover the transfer of players and how it works.

Transfers

First of all don't think of the transfering of players in the same way as in Football Manager the PC game, this is very different. There is only 2 things to consider when buying players in FML and thats, acquisition fee and wage. Your budget will go off of these two things so getting the balance right is important.

When you start the game you get £500,000 transfer budget and a wage budget of £100,000 and trust me this isn't a lot.

Sort out what areas you want to focus on or if you want an even squad. At the end of the day the better attacking team the better because with defence you could have 4 super stars at the back and still not be great. Get your squad players first then get the bigger names.

When bidding for a player that has no club you obviously don't pay a fee just the wages. When you buy a player from another its determined by what the other user wants but then there is auctions.

Auctions are basically players up for sale or players with contracts expiring.

Contracts

A few points about contracts

1. You cannot sign a player to a contract longer than 2 years.
2. You can only auto extend 5 contracts when they run out. So pick your best 5 players.

At the end of the season many players come up for grabs due to the limit of 5 auto extends so auctions go crazy.

When bidding on a player in an auction you are bidding using wages if their contract is expiring and the fee you will pay will be the players game value which is always a lot lower than what the user would value them at.

test

This screenshot shows the players bidding on an out of contract Forlan. Bidding can be tough so you have to consider your budget and what wages you want to offer. If you cannot afford the acquisition fee it won't let you bid.
