Where to put the files
The biggest problem reported by downloaders of backrounds is "where do I put them"? Its actually very simple.
First of all you must have a backrounds folder, if its not there you must create it. So go to your Sports Interactive folder in my documents and create one.
Scenario, you have installed windows XP on your C drive, your location would be:
C:\Documents and Settings\Yourname\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\graphics\backrounds
Some users will not see graphics so go to:
C:\Documents and Settings\Yourname\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\
Right click and select - New - Folder and name it 'graphics'. Now go into this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\Yourname\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\graphics\
Right click again and select - New - Folder and name it 'backrounds'.
Now your folder is all setup.
In windows Vista its pretty much the same setup, install to your documents folder, the paths are named slightly different.

In game settings to enable backrounds
For backrounds to show you must make sure you have some options selected in preferences in the game.
1. Show backrounds must be Ticked.
2. Skin cache must be Unticked.
3. Reload skin on confirm Ticked (If the game is open as you install)
